A probationer with meth was arrested on gun charges after a traffic stop in Westminster

On 1/11/2025, at 11 p.m., a police officer was patrolling near Bolsa Ave and Beach Boulevard when they noticed a suspicious vehicle leaving a business plaza, according to the Westminster Police Department.

The officer followed the vehicle and ultimately conducted a traffic stop for a Vehicle Code violation.

The officer then contacted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, who was later determined the be on probation.

The police officers conducted a search of a backpack the subject admitted was his. Upon doing this the officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

A further search of the vehicle revealed the subject had a loaded 9mm Sig Sauer handgun underneath the driver’s seat.

The subject was taken into custody without incident and ultimately booked at the Orange County Jail on six felony charges including felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition to name a few.
