This afternoon, SAPD Robbery Detectives and Directed Enforcement officers located and arrested Efrain Ayala, (22), of Santa Ana, who was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred last week at a gas station.
Earlier this week, SAPD robbery detectives arrested Izaya Cuellar (35) of Santa Ana, who was involved in the same armed robbery.
There is still one suspect on the loose.

Detectives are attempting to identify and locate 3 suspects involved in an armed robbery. On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the victim was pumping gas when suspect #1 approached the driver’s side door. Suspect #1 brandished a firearm, pointed it at the victim, who was seated inside the vehicle with his girlfriend, and demanded their property. Suspect #2 then approached and took the stolen property from suspect #1. Meanwhile, suspect #3 stood nearby, acting as a lookout.
The suspects stole two cell phones and a wallet before fleeing in a dark-colored sedan.
Suspect #1: Hispanic male in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5’9” tall, heavyset, with a mustache and beard. He was wearing prescription glasses and had a distinct tattoo in the shape of the State of California on his inner left forearm and a cross on his left hand. Suspect #2: Hispanic male, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt. Suspect #3: Hispanic male, in his 20’s, approximately 5’10”, and thin build. He wore a black shirt, and black pants.
