A motorcyclist died in a collision in Newport Beach

On November 4, 2024, at 5:53 pm, the Newport Beach Police Department dispatch center received a report of a single motorcycle collision near Pacific Coast Highway W and 61st Street.

Officers arrived on scene and located an unresponsive motorcyclist.

Despite immediate CPR and lifesaving efforts by officers, the rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The NBPD Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was activated and led the investigation, with assistance from Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) personnel.

Due to the nature of the incident, a SigAlert was issued, and several lanes remained closed for several hours for further investigation.
