Join Dana Point Harbor Partners (DPHP) and the community of Dana Point to celebrate the holiday season with shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities, including the return of the Festival of Lights on November 13, and the 47th annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, November 28.
The iconic Turkey Trot race, organized by the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by DPHP, draws thousands of participants annually to the coastal city. Participants can choose to run or walk in the 5k, 10k, 15k or Kids’ 1-mile Gobble Wobble through the Harbor on Thanksgiving Day. Registration includes a commemorative t-shirt, finisher medal and a virtual goody bag filled with exclusive offers from local businesses. For further details and registration visit TurkeyTrot.com.
“The Turkey Trot is a tradition Dana Point Harbor Partners looks forward to every year,” commented Bryon Ward of Dana Point Harbor Partners and President of Burnham-Ward Properties. “The Harbor has always been a destination for people to gather with friends, family, and loved ones, and we are privileged to play a role in celebrating this wonderful community.”
New this year, donations to the race’s designated local charities, Ocean Institute and Soroptimist of Capistrano Bay, will be matched by The Giving Machine as part of the #LightTheWorld initiative. The Giving Machine, returning to Dana Point Harbor on Tuesday, November 26, is a global movement dedicated to redefining the holiday season as a time of service and generosity. The distinctive red vending machines can be found near the Harbor’s Community Room and Clock Courtyard. The donation matching presents a unique opportunity for participants and the community to double their impact. The community is also invited to save the date for Giving Tuesday, December 3, for The Giving Machine’s official launch event featuring the In N Out Truck, Santa, and The Kyle Fisher Band.
Post-race, spectators and participants can indulge with ample dining options at the Harbor to continue the festivities. Restaurants that will be open and serving Thanksgiving Day specials include:
- Gemmell’s Restaurant, 12P-6P, 3-Course Thanksgiving Dinner & Other Entrees
- Turk’s, 8A-11P, Traditional Turkey Dinner
- Coffee Importers, 6A-2P, Eggnog Latte, Nogachinno, Mexican Hot Chocolate, and Holiday Turkey Panini
- The Brig, 7A – Close, Full Menu with Thanksgiving Specials
