A suspected gang banger fatally shot a young man near Lincoln Elementary School in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, Calif. (September 24, 2024)—Santa Ana Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation regarding the death of a 20-year-old man.

On Monday, September 23, 2024, at approximately 3:31 p.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of a shooting in the 400 block of W. Camile Street. , which is a few blocks west of Abraham Lincoln Elementary School.

While officers were responding, they were informed that two victims were being transported from the scene.

Officers arrived at a local hospital, where they located 20-year-old Steven Garcia of Santa Ana and a 15-year-old juvenile, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite life-saving efforts, Garcia was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The juvenile was listed in stable condition and is expected to survive.

Detectives are attempting to identify and locate additional witnesses who can provide information about the homicide.
