Seal Beach Fishing Derby winners

The following kids won the 2024 Kids Fishing Derby, which was held on the Seal Beach Pier on Saturday, Aug. 17. 

The event featured booths staffed by representatives of the National Wildlife Refuge and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. 

From left to right are: Claire Schaller, 8; Liam Delish, 11; and Landon, 8.

The event is put on every year by the Rotary Club of Los Alamitos, Cypress on the Pier. 

The winners were:

• Age 0-6:

1. Levi Bersuch (age 6)

2. Luca Stauffer (age 6)

• Age 7-11:
