DENVER (KDVR) — Authorities announced on Tuesday that 40-year-old Benny Potter, a popular YouTube personality and Colorado resident, was the victim of a single-vehicle crash.

The crash happened on Saturday, June 8, at about 9:19 a.m. on Interstate 25 near Fort Collins, according to Colorado State Patrol (CSP),

Potter was in his silver Toyota 4Runner when it veered off the right shoulder of the interstate, police said. Potter continued to cross over the frontage road, which runs parallel to the interstate, before the vehicle rolled multiple times.

CSP said Potter was wearing his seatbelt but succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.

Potter ran a popular YouTube channel, Comicstorian, which reached 3.03 million subscribers.

His wife, Nathalie, posted the news on the social media platform X on Monday.

“Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies,” the announcement said. “It was through his love of exciting stories and well-written characters that got him started on YouTube.”

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, but CSP said there were no indications that impairment or excessive speed were involved.
