ANAHEIM, Calif. (May 28, 2024) — Attention District 3 voters: Election Day in the June 4 special election is now just a week away!

The special election is only for registered voters in District 3 in and around downtown Anaheim.

If you’ve already turned in your ballot, thanks for taking part!

The ballot includes one question asking if District 3 Council Member Natalie Rubalcava should be recalled. There are no other issues on the ballot.

The special election is being held after proponents earlier this year gathered enough valid signatures to place the issue before voters.

Voting by mail, drop box or in person couldn’t be easier.

By mail: Fill out, sign and return your ballot by mail in the postage-paid envelope provided.

Ballots, which were mailed to District 3 registered voters in early May, must be postmarked by 8 p.m. on June 4.

They must be to the Orange County Registrar of Voters within seven days after the election.

Ballot drop boxes: You can drop off completed, signed ballots at two drop boxes in District 3 through June 4 at 8 p.m.

Drop boxes are collected every other day and then daily as we get closer to June 4.

On the evening of June 4, ballot boxes will be staffed and locked at the close of voting at 8 p.m.

Please note: Other drop boxes in Anaheim outside District 3 are locked and unavailable for the special election.

In person: a vote center is open now through June 4 for voting or dropping off ballots.

The vote center is at the Downtown Anaheim Youth Center, at 225 S. Philadelphia St., next to City Hall.

Voting there is easy with plenty of stations and easy parking at the City Hall parking structure or along Mito Way right outside the vote center.
