“Happy Gilmore is back!” Netflix revealed in a post to X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday.

Adam Sandler is set to reprise his role as the hockey enthusiast turned golfer in the sequel to the 1996 hit movie.

The movie is set to be released on the streaming giant.

Fans of the film immediately responded to the news, some excited while others were apprehensive.

The X account for Tivo wrote, “#excited.”

“If you ruin this classic, I’m unsubscribing,” wrote one user.

“This will probably be bad, but good too,” another chimed in.

“Let Netflix cook,” a fan said in encouragement of the streamer.

“Looks like Adam Sandler is dusting off his golf clubs again! I hope this time he finally learns how to putt without getting into too much trouble!” wrote another fan.

The 28-year-old comedy is touted as one of Sandler’s most popular films. It starred the comedian as well as Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, Frances Bay, Carl Weathers, Bob Barker, Ben Still and more. Sandler wrote the project alongside Tim Herlihy.

Recently, talks of a sequel have been making the rounds.

When the “SNL” alum was on the Dan Patrick Show in April, he let it slip that he was “working on some stuff” for “‘Happy 2.’”

That same month Drew Barrymore revealed on her talk show that the sequel was “in process.”

So far there is no word as to when “Happy Gilmore 2” will be released and if any of Sandler’s former costars will be reprising their roles.
