The first trailer for “Joker: Folie à Deux” is now out, giving fans their first look at Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
Warner Bros. released the nearly two-and-a-half-minute video on Tuesday evening.
It shows Joaquin Phoenix’s character Arthur Fleck locked up inside the fictional Gotham City Arkham Asylum, where he was left off in the 2019 film. Fleck later becomes Batman’s nemesis, The Joker.
“Hey Fleck, you got a joke for us today?” asks a guard.
From there, he’s walked down the halls where he catches eyes with Quinn who is inside a choir class.
“We use music to make us whole. To balance the fractures within ourselves,” a person can be heard saying as the screen pans to another interaction between Phoenix and Gaga’s character.
From there, they embark on a “Bad Romance.”
A video montage shows the couple’s relationship amid a rendition of the famous song “What The World Needs Now Is Love.”
While much of the plot is still unknown, the director Todd Phillips promises there will be plenty of song and dance numbers, which is Gaga’s forte.
The trailer comes days after Warner Bros. released a poster from the film.
Back in 2022 rumors began to swirl that Gaga, would play Quinn in the highly anticipated sequel to Todd Phillips’ 2019 Oscar-winning film “Joker.”
The movie earned 11 Oscar nominations and won two. Phoenix snagged Best Actor while Hildur Guðnadóttir won Best Original Music Score.
“Joker: Folie à Deux” is in theaters on Oct. 4.
