Anthony Anderson shocked his Instagram followers on Thursday when he posted a selfie on top of a gurney in a hospital elevator.
While the comedian and actor was all smiles as he threw up a peace sign, he injured himself while filming a fight scene for an upcoming movie in Cape Town, South Africa.
“I spent the night in the emergency room,” he revealed in the caption. “Movie set fight gone wrong. Me against two goons and a chair! Guess who didn’t win?”
The Compton native then admitted stunts may not be his thing.
“Who needs a stuntman? Me that’s who! I’m not as young as I used to be!” he exclaimed.
Anderson underwent a CT scan and X-rays, which “showed nothing fractured or broken” in his back but he did suffer “just a deep contusion.”
A contusion is the medical term for a bruise, according to Healthline.
While he was injured, “That chair will never be the same though!”
Amid the pain, he offered some words of wisdom: “Bloodied and bowed but never broken!”
The comment section was flooded with well-wishes from his famous friends.
“@anthonyanderson you are not made of rubber. I’m so glad you are ok,” wrote his “Black-ish” costar Tracee Ellis Ross.
“Nah ! f-k it “ I can do it!!!!’” Cut to … this picture 😂😂😂😂😂 get well my dert!!!!” commented Cedric the Entertainer.
However, in a later post, he admitted the chair was a tough opponent and even provided a photo of the aggressor.
“This is the chair that whooped my a– last night! Something about it is menacing!” he said. “It sucker punched me in the kidneys and back with no mercy! When I got on set today it was grinning at me!”
But their beef isn’t over.
“Little does he know I got something for that a–! He gone learn today!”
