Saddleback High School’s football team is expected to be back in action Thursday night when it faces Calvary Chapel in an Orange Coast League game at Segerstrom.
Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.
It’s a home game for Calvary Chapel, which is coming off a 50-0 victory over Costa Mesa Friday night. Quarterback Matt Peters threw five touchdown passes to lead the Eagles (3-2, 1-0).
Saddleback (0-4, 0-1) had only 19 players available for its game last week with Orange, so the Roadrunners (0-4 overall) forfeited their league opener.
Saddleback Athletic Director Rob Thompson said Monday the Roadrunners will be ready for Thursday’s game with Calvary Chapel.
“As long as I get my injured players back, we should be good,” said first-year Coach Paige Nobles last week after the forfeit.
Saddleback went into the season short-handed and inexperienced with a number of sophomores starting.
