ANAHEIM, Calif. (July 7, 2023) – Detectives have arrested 24-year-old Michelle Navarrete for several animal abuse incidents that occurred at a dog daycare/boarding business in Anaheim.
On July 5, 2023, the Anaheim Police Department was notified by Orange County Animal Care regarding allegations of animal abuse that occurred at a dog daycare/boarding business located on the 4500 block of E. Eisenhower Circle. The business owners reported the abuse to Orange County Animal Care. Detectives immediately launched an investigation and discovered that an employee, Michelle Navarrete of Fountain Valley, had committed several acts of animal abuse against dogs under the business’ care.
On July 6, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Anaheim PD Investigators located Navarrete in the City of Fountain Valley and arrested her for felony animal abuse. Navarrete was booked at the Anaheim Police Department Detention Facility and was released after posting $20,000 bail.
Detectives believe Navarrete has been employed at the business for approximately three (3) years. Detectives are working to determine how many dogs have been affected or injured. Detectives are not disclosing any additional details at this time because the investigation is ongoing.
