Pacifica, Crean Lutheran, Villa Park, Foothill, Tesoro and San Clemente notch victories

PACIFICA 4, CYPRESS 2: The Mariners (21-2, 9-2) clinched at least a share of the Empire League title with a victory in front of their home fans Tuesday. Pacifica captured its 16th win in a row. Logan Brady was the winning pitcher. He allowed two runs in four innings and struck out one. Chad Gurnea came on to get the save with five strikeouts in three innings and was 1 for 3 with a run scored. Aiden Marquez was 3 for 4 with a run scored, Jacob Zanaboni was 1 for 2 with an RBI, Rylan Chastain 1 for 2 with a run scored and Tristin Brinkman 1 for 2 with a double, two walks and a run scored. Cypress fell to 20-7 overall and 8-1 in league.

The Centurions will be out to earn a split of the series and a share of the title Thursday at Cypress. Cypress won the title last year and Pacifica and Cypress shared it in 2021.

CREAN LUTHERAN 1, TUSTIN 0: The Saints (20-8, 5-4) clinched third place in the Empire League and a berth in the CIF Division 4 playoffs when Jack Sand scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning. Coach Jake Haney’s team is ranked No. 2 in this week’s Division 4 poll. Alex Iida pitched a complete game for the Saints, striking out four to get the win. Iida had only 82 pitches, 62 for strikes, Haney said.

The teams play again Thursday at Tustin.

VILLA PARK 1, EL MODENA 0: The Spartans captured the Crestview League title with the win on Tuesday. Brandon Luu pitched a complete game, allowing three hits and striking out 14. Geoff McArthur was 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead the offense.

TESORO 2, CAPISTRANO VALLEY 1 ((9 innings): The Titans (18-8, 8-2) earned a walk-off win to move into first place in the South Coast League. The teams play again Wednesday at Capistrano Valley and Friday at Tesoro with both games starting at 3:45 p.m. Jake Lamdin got the win with three innings of relief. He had five strikeouts and was also 1 for 4 with an RBI.

FOOTHILL 10, EL DORADO 2: Andrew Harbor went five innings to record the win. He allowed a hit and struck out four. Garrett Davidson was 2 for 3 with two doubles and four RBI, Andrew Parker was 2 for 3 with three RBI, Jack Mueller was 2 for 3 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI and Grant Johnson was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI to lead the Knights.

SAN CLEMENTE 4, EL TORO 4: The Tritons got a win Tuesday to remain tied for first place in the league with El Toro. The teams play again Thursday at San Clemente. Sophomore Mike Erspamier got the win, improving his record to 4-0 in the league and 7-0 overall.
