Segerstrom, Santa Ana, Tesoro and Villa Park capture Tuesday victories

SEGERSTROM 4, OCEAN VIEW 3: The Jaguars captured a Golden West League victory over Ocean View Tuesday at Ocean View. Segerstrom (2-8-2, 2-1) was led by starting pitcher Bryan Cortez, who pitched four innings, allowed two hits, no runs and struck out two. Zack Bretza came on in the seventh inning with one out and the bases loaded and got the save. Elyaz Vejar caught a stellar game and threw out two baserunners on steals, according to Coach Erasmo Ramirez.

Cortez was 3 for 3 with two singles, a double and an RBI and Eli Sandoval was 2 for 3 with two runs scored for the Jaguars.

The teams play again Friday at Segerstrom.

SANTA ANA 7, CALVARY CHAPEL 6: After three straight losses, Coach Dave Silva’s Saints got into the win column Tuesday at home in an Orange Coast League game. Angel Torres had a walk-off single to win it for the Saints. Joel Duenas started on the mound and pitched well. He was followed by Emiliano Valadez who got the win, allowing one hit and no runs over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked one for Santa Ana (5-8, 3-5).

Troy Banuelos and Angel Torres were 2 for 3 with a walk. The teams play again Friday at 4 p.m. at the Great Park.

TESORO 3, TRABUCO HILLS 1: The Titans (7-5, 3-0) were led by Caden Chergey, who got the win, pitching four innings and striking out six. He was also 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Jose Lambdin was 2 for 3 and earned the save with three strikeout.

VILLA PARK 6, FOOTHILL 1: The Spartans (11-2, 3-1) got a strong pitching effort from Brandon Luu (4-1). Luu got the win, pitching six innings, allowing one run and striking out 10. Gavin Grahovac was 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored; AJ Kroedel was 3 for 4 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBI; Theo Bovetas was 1 for 4 with a double and three RBI and Justin Tims was 2 for 4.

Andrew Harbour took the loss fot Foothill (8-7, 1-3). Ty Hawkins was 2 for 3 with a walk, Ty Cowley was 2 for 4 with a run scored and Grant Johnson was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a walk.
