March 5, 2023

 
Assault – 9:32 a.m. – 4000 block of Orange Ave. – A citizen assaulted his son, causing minor abrasions.  The son does not reside with his father and no prosecution was desired. 
CIB Follow-up – 11:30 a.m. – 2000 block of Pine Hurst Ln. (Hawthorne) – Cypress Police detectives responded to the location regarding a case in which two juveniles on social media brandished a handgun.  Detectives determined the gun was a BB gun, and no further investigation was required.

March 6, 2023

 
Domestic Violence – 12:59 p.m. – 9200 block of Valley View St. – On 3/5/23, the victim’s boyfriend punched the victim in the face and body several times and choked the victim. An emergency protection order (EPO) was obtained and officers were making contact with the suspect at his work for follow-up. 
Shoplifting – 8:44 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – From a call for service of a possible shoplifter at the location, a male subject was arrested for possession of paraphernalia, burglary tools, shoplifting and an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released in the field.

March 7, 2023

 
Suspicious Subject – 3:15 a.m. – 6100 block of Orange Ave. – From a call for service of a suspicious person in the area, a male subject was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. He was cited and released in the field.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 11:13 a.m. – Orange/Valley View – From a LoJack hit, police located an unoccupied stolen vehicle. The vehicle was removed from the system and the registered owner picked it up. 

March 8, 2023

 
Arrest – 3:19 p.m. – 5200 block of Orange Ave. – Police arrested an attorney for CVC 4463(a)(a) – vehicle registration forgery – and PC 115(a) – filing a forged document – after she presented fraudulent Nevada registration for a vehicle she was attempting to get released from police impound for her client. The subject was released pending further investigation. 
Incident Report – 4:29 p.m. – 5200 block of Orange Ave. – An officer took an incident report for a city employee after an ex-Cypress resident called in and spoke with another employee, referencing her distaste for the city employee and her knowledge of her family and where she lived.  No specific threat was made, and a report was taken for documentation.   
Traffic Stop – 11:57 p.m. – Lincoln/Knott – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for being a felon in possession of pepper spray and driving without a license. He was cited and released in the field.

March 9, 2023

 
Burglary – 1:34 a.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – Officers responded to a burglary alarm at the location and observed the west side entrance door had been smashed. The emergency contact responded and was unable to confirm a loss at this time.
Traffic Stop – 11:22 p.m. – Lincoln/Bloomfield – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of San Diego. The subject was transported and booked at Orange County Jail (OCJ).

March 10, 2023

 
Robbery – 8:38 p.m. – 4300 block of Paseo de Oro – An adult male was walking home from the nearby Ralphs when he was followed, assaulted, and robbed by four males who were in their 30s. The loss was currency from India, Dubai, and the United States. There was a an approximate 10-15 minutes delay in the reporting of the crime and the suspects were not located.
Arrest – 9:35 p.m. – 5500 block of Ball Rd. – From a call for service, a male subject was arrested for possession of Fentanyl for sales and a female subject was arrested for an outstanding narcotic for sales warrant. Through interrogation, the male admitted to possessing additional narcotics in his motel room in Cypress.  After obtaining consent, officers went and searched the motel room and located additional Fentanyl, cocaine, Xanax, methamphetamine, and a digital scale. Both subject were transported and booked at OCJ.

March 11, 2023

 
Pursuit – 7:30 a.m. – Lincoln/Bloomfield – Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations and the vehicle immediately evaded at a high rate of speed and ran multiple red lights. The suspect vehicle was described as a black Chevrolet pick-up truck and was occupied by one suspect. Due to the weather conditions and the suspect’s erratic driving, police cancelled the pursuit quickly.
Vehicle Burglary – 8:15 p.m. – 4900 block of Katella Ave. – Between 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., unknown suspect(s) shattered the driver’s side window to the victim’s Ford F150 and ransacked the vehicle. There was no loss.
