DUI checkpoint results in one arrest and 11 citations

One driver was arrested for driving under the influence at a DUI checkpoint on March 3, 2023.

The DUI checkpoint was held at Artesia Boulevard, east of Cherry Avenue from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

11 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 237 vehicles were screened and a total of 761 vehicles went through the checkpoint.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
