Corona del Mar High School’s baseball team won game two of the three game Battle of the Bay series Thursday afternoon 8-4 at CdM.

The win also clinches the series victory. The Sea Kings (4-3) took game one of the series on Tuesday.

Senior Brycen Hill (1-2) threw six innings allowing three hits and striking out four to record the win. Peter Bonin struck out the side in the seventh inning to secure the victory for the Sea Kings.

Offensively, CdM was led by Jake Garcia who was 2 for 4 on the day with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Dennis Fitzpatrick was also 2 for 4 with a single, double, and a run scored.

“It was good to see Brycen pitch well,” said CdM Coach Kevin McCaffrey. “He competed all game and used his off-speed pitches to keep Newport off balance all afternoon.”

CdM and Newport Harbor (3-4) play again Friday at 3 p.m. at Orange Coast College.
