January 26, 2023

Counseling – 10:44 a.m. – 5300 block of La Luna Dr. – The caller requested counseling regarding issues with squatters at the residence. The subject was referred to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Eviction Team.
Counseling – 9:20 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party believed that she was being followed while driving and requested an escort to her residence in Buena Park. No crime a this time.

January 27, 2023

Found Property – 11:52 a.m. – Edison Right-of-Way – The reporting party was walking west through the Edison right-of-way and observed a laptop sitting int he grass next to a tree. No one was around to claim it, so he brought it to the Police Department.
Petty Theft Report – 6:00 p.m. – 7900 block of Willow Ln. – The reporting party had surveillance of two men taking his mail. Report taken.
Extra Patrol Check – 9:07 p.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – A customer reportedly felt threatened by an employee and believed that there might be some kind of confrontation at 11 p.m. The reporting party would not provide information on the employee or confirm if the employee was working at this time. The reporting party later called back to report that it was a misunderstanding.

January 28, 2023

Public Works – 10:17 a.m. – 5400 block of La Luna Dr. – A water leak was reported int he curb area. A small leak was found from a crack in the driveway on the City sidewalk. Public Works and the Water Department were notified.
Counseling – 1:40 p.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – The reporting party was reportedly approached by a male subject in a vehicle. The reporting party believed that he was going to get “beat up” by an unknown male subject and was looking for possible video surveillance to collect evidence.

January 29, 2023

Suspicious Vehicle – 2:48 p.m. – Denni/La Palma – A black Infiniti was occupied by four subjects possibly drinking alcohol and leaving bottles in the area. A 34-year-old male subject was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge. The subject was transported to Orange County Jail.
Traffic Hazard – 5:25 p.m. – Moody/Shirley – A large amount of glass was in the roadway. Large pieces were swept out of the street and Public Works was notified.

January 30, 2023

Counseling – 9:23 a.m. – 8100 block of Walker St. – Counseling was requested regarding a vehicle being repossessed the day before.
Counseling – 10:53 a.m. – 4600 block of Amberwood Ave. – Counseling was requested regarding eggs being thrown at the residence.

January 31, 2023

Police Information – 11:47 p.m. – Artesia/Altura (Buena Park) – La Palma Police were advised regarding an intersection takeover involving a Dodge Charger and Challenger, which were last seen westbound on Artesia. Police conducted a patrol check.

February 1, 2023

Fraud/Forgery Report – 5:21 p.m. – 5400 block of La Luna Dr. – $8500 was reportedly taken out of the reporting party’s bank account by an unknown subject. Report taken.
Welfare Check – 9:21 p.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – A male subject was reportedly sitting on the corner crying and talking to himself. The subject was determined to be a transient, and he advised that he stopped there because he was tired. The subject refused services and left the area.

February 2, 2023

Burglary Report – 6:31 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – The reporting party stated that the bars and window at the front of the building were broken. The RP had received a notification from the alarm company at approximately 5 a.m. to report the break-in. It was determined that the suspects made entry via a Sawzall. The damage was still creating a blockage and police were unable to investigate further at that time. Report taken. The only loss at that time were inactive Lotto scratchers and approximately $2500 in damage.
Disturbance (Subject) – 9:25 a.m. – 7800 block of Jennifer Cir. – The caller’s neighbor had reportedly been living in his vehicle for approximately 3 weeks. The subject was also seen in his underwear and making racial slurs. Police contacted the subject, who was subsequently arrested for violating a court order. The subject was booked at Orange County Jail.
