Woodbridge High School’s boys basketball team opened Pacific Coast League play Tuesday night with a 63-30 road victory over Laguna Hills.

Woodbridge (9-11, 1-0) had four players in double figures. Stephen Lamp scored 17 points and made five 3-pointers, Yousef Alsaaad had 14 points and Ethan Fu and Jason Briggs 10 points each for the Warriors.

“The kids were focused tonight,” said Woodbridge Coach Steve Scoggin. “(Coach) Dave Yates does a great job and always has his teams ready. We have a lot of respect for them.

“We came out and moved the ball on offense and found open shots. Stephen Lamp hit four three’s in the first quarter. Defensively, we were locked in. They have two really good scorers and we have to play defense.

“Ethan Fu and JC Schindler really controlled the ball in the first half and found the middle guy in the zone which opened up shots for our guys. I’m really proud of this group. They are very selfless and just play the right way. Great way to start off league.”

Laguna Hills is 10-9 overall.
