Pacifica Christian prepares for next challenge after winning three of four at tourney

Pacifica Christian High School’s boys basketball team, ranked fourth in this week’s CIF Division 2A poll, takes a break before returning to action on Saturday, Dec. 17 at a tournament in San Luis Obispo.

The Tritons (7-2 overall) won three of four games at the Beach Bash Tournament at Corona del Mar.

Pacifica Christian defeated Portola 75-36, led by sophomore EJ Spillman, who had 14 points and senior Tanner Deal, who had 13 points. Senior Parker Strauss had 11 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists for the Tritons.

Thursday night, Pacifica Christian lost to eventual tourney champion JSerra 60-56. Spillman had 19 points and Semaan 10 points.

Pacifica Christian bounced back Friday defeating San Clemente 46-40 in the team’s annual Silent Night Game. Strauss had 16 points, four assists and four charges.

The Tritons wrapped up the tournament with a 69-56 victory over Los Alamitos Saturday. Semaan had 20 points and Deal 11 points. Parker Strauss had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists and senior Jeffry Bohlinger had 10 assists.

The Tritons’ will travel to San Luis Obispo to compete in the Mission Prep Christmas Classic. Their first game will be on Saturday, Dec. 17 against Taft High School at 4:30 pm. All games for the tournament will be held at Mission College Prep.
