Good afternoon, Los Alamitos Unified Families, and Community,

I am grateful for the support voters continue to provide our school district. This community has long been recognized for its commitment to education and the youth we serve.

The District has been informed that the results of the November 2022 election have been certified by the Orange County Registrar of Voters. In Los Alamitos USD, two trustee areas were up for election. The certified results are as follows:

Marlys Davidson, of Trustee Area 1, has served on the Board for four years and was re-elected for a second term. Prior to serving on the Board of Education, Mrs. Davidson taught alongside professionals in Los Alamitos Unified at elementary and secondary school levels for 25 years. Having grown up in Los Alamitos, Mrs. Davidson and her husband, Stan, raised their two children in the community and have actively engaged in a variety of leadership capacities including PTA, School Site Council, sports, and Scouts.

Diana Hill, of Trustee Area 5, has served on the Board for 12 years and was re-elected for a fourth term. Mrs. Hill has been a community leader for nearly two decades in Los Alamitos and the greater Orange County area. Mrs. Hill currently serves as the Executive Director of Pathways to Independence, a local social-impact organization serving young women. She and her husband, Randy, have two adult sons that are products of Los Alamitos Unified and are proud Griffin alumni.

Both Mrs. Davidson and Mrs. Hill will officially begin their new term and take their oath of office at the December 13, 2022 Board of Education meeting. During this “organizational” meeting, the Board will also appoint a new president and vice president to serve in that capacity for the next calendar year.
