Teacher and California State Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva today released the following statement regarding ballot returns in the November General Election:
“While it remains critical that every vote be counted, I am confident that my lead is larger than the remaining ballots, and I will be privileged to once again serve in the California State Assembly in the coming legislative term.
“I am humbled and privileged to have the trust of the voters of the 67th District, who are allowing me to continue to be a voice for all working families, as someone who understands the community and who will fight for them. It is a true honor to continue to serve in the newly drawn Assembly District 67. I will continue to focus on serious issues that the voters have indicated are priorities: public safety, education, homelessness and housing.”
Quirk-Silva is running for re-election in the newly drawn 67th Assembly District, which includes Artesia, Buena Park, Cerritos, Cypress, Hawaiian Gardens, and La Palma, and portions of Fullerton and Anaheim. County elections officials have 30 days to process and verify all ballots received, after which the California Secretary of State will certify state results.
