Lakewood to hold Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Expo on Sept. 24

Enjoy lots of family-friendly fun and learn valuable information at the City of Lakewood’s annual Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Expo to be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Civic Center parking lot at Del Amo and Clark.

This free event is a chance for community members of all ages to meet first responders who serve their community and learn about the latest in emergency preparedness.

The event includes:

  • Exciting demonstrations by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department and Fire Department, including search-and-rescue dogs and mounted horses.
  • An up-close look at the Sheriff’s Department and Fire Department vehicles, including firetrucks and sheriff’s patrol cars, and a chance to meet the pilot of and see Lakewood’s Sky Knight helicopter. 
  • Booths offering tips to prepare your homes and pets for an emergency.
  • Family fun zone for kids with inflatables and carnival games.
