August 22, 2022
Hospital Transport – 5:30 a.m. – Officers from the Traffic Bureau and sat with the suspect from a fatal traffic collision until his release from the hospital.
Arrest – 11:08 a.m. – 5600 block of Cerritos Ave. – From a call for service, a male subject was arrested for felony vandalism. The subject’s truck was in the process of being repossessed when he got into it and pulled it off the tow truck. The subject’s effort to get the truck free, and later his driving through the business’s walkway and destroying cement pillars, caused approximate $30K worth of damage.
August 23, 2022
Burglary – 5:57 a.m. – 6900 block of Katella Ave. – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect smashed the front glass door and stole a credit card machine and the lost/found box with miscellaneous jewelry.
Burglary – 9:36 a.m. – 11700 block of Valley View St. – At approximately 2:30 a.m., two suspects smashed the front glass door and stole cash and clothing. The suspects were described as males in their 30s, wearing hoodies and masks, and seen driving a black 2012 Mercedes SUV.
Petty Theft – 11:39 a.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – While one suspect distracted the employee to the rear of the store, two other suspects went behind the counter and stole sets of electric clippers. The loss was valued at $600.
Burglary – 10:51 p.m. – 9200 block of Valley View St. – On 7/4 and 7/11, an unknown suspect made entry into the maintenance yard and stole two pieces of high powered cleaning equipment valued at approximately $13,000.00.

Traffic Stop – 12:15 a.m. – Lincoln/Walker – From a traffic stop, a female subject was arrested for possession of fentanyl and being a felon in possession of ammunition. A male subject was arrested for for driving without a license.
Criminal Threats – 3:21 p.m. – 4300 block of Orange Ave. – An unknown caller called in a threat. The school went into automatic lockdown until we could research the call and check the area for any suspicious subjects. The numbers used were both internet generated phone numbers. This call happened as parents were arriving for pick-up; after approximately a 20-minute delay, police were able to release the students. Officers remained on campus until the pick-up of students was completed. As a precaution, police also asked another school to go on a temporary lockdown until the calls could be investigated.
August 25, 2022
Brandishing a Weapon – 12:18 p.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – The property manager located a transient in the bushes taking water from the property. When confronted, the transient displayed a knife and threatened to stab the
reporting party. The subject then left on his skateboard and police were unable to locate the subject.
Court Order Violation – 8:15 p.m. – 10400 block of Denni St. – The victim’s ex called approximately 20 times
while she was at work. This is the same suspect from last week’s yard-to-yard search.
August 26, 2022
Bike Stop – 12:26 a.m. – Knott/Ball – From a bicycle stop, a male subject was arrested for resist/delaying an officer, possession of paraphernalia, and narcotics. He had a large amount of jewelry on his person, however, officer was unable to locate a victim. Police are conducting follow-up with surrounding agencies.
Grand Theft – 4:17 a.m. – Grindlay/Vista Hermosa – The reporting party observed two subjects in a dark-colored BMW SUV stealing the catalytic converter from a white Toyota Tundra parked on Vista Hermosa. The vehicle was last seen southbound. Officers were UTL on an area check.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 8:13 a.m. – 9800 block of Bloomfield Ave. – From a call for service of a vehicle with no wheels and up on blocks, a stolen silver Kia Optima was recovered. The vehicle was stolen out of Lakewood on 08-24-22 and was found completely stripped.
Arrest – 2:01 p.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – From a call for service of a subject who returned to the store after having shoplifted yesterday, a male subject was arrested for shoplifting and an outstanding warrant.
Theft – 5:32 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – Loss Prevention reported a known theft suspect was in the store and concealing items on his person. The subject stole a razor and fled on a skateboard. At the time this log was issued, police had located and detained the subject pending investigation and possible arrest.
August 27, 2022
Stolen Vehicle Report – 2:08 p.m. – 6100 block of Lincoln Ave. – The victim reported that his newly-purchased white 4 door 2022 Cadillac CTS was stolen sometime Thursday evening. He stated he heard the vehicle’s engine and looked out the window to watch the vehicle drive off, but did not see who had taken it. He opted not to report it at the time, believing it would possibly return. Police also discovered the reporting party had an outstanding warrant for narcotics and arrested him. No suspect info. The reporting party was cited for the warrant.

Grand Theft – 7:32 p.m. – 9300 block of Esther St. – The victim reported a male and female suspect stole items from their unlocked vehicle which was parked on the street. Surveillance video captured a male and female suspect driving a dark gray sedan with tinted windows and black rims pull alongside the parked vehicle. The subjects exited their vehicle and entered the unlocked van, removed items from inside and fled westbound. The loss was cash and several handbags valued at $1,500.
Grand Theft – 11:00 p.m. – 4500 block of Larwin Ave. – The reporting party observed a white Nissan sedan pull his vehicle next to a parked Toyota Tundra and observed a male suspect cutting the catalytic converter from beneath the vehicle. When she attempted to confront the suspect he entered into the driver seat of the Nissan and fled eastbound on Larwin at a high rate of speed. She was able to record the incident on her cell phone camera, however did not capture the license plate of the suspect vehicle. Officers were unable to contact the registered owner of the Toyota.
