August 9, 2022

Petty Theft Report – 10:40 a.m. – 4800 block of El Rancho Verde Dr. – Various items were taken from a vehicle, including a laptop, garage door opener, and sunglasses.

August 10, 2022

Indecent Exposure – 2:18 p.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. (Buena Park) – A female subject was reportedly topless with her beasts exposed. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Suspicious Subject – 10:31 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – The caller believed that there were suspicious subjects to the rear of the business. A male and a female were pushing a stroller and the caller believed that the subjects were near his unlocked vehicle. It was determined that a subject appeared to leave a wheelchair and suitcase behind before leaving the area. The property was collected from the roadway. Report taken.

August 11, 2022

Extra Patrol Checks – 9:00 a.m. – Indigo/Lynn – The reporting party requested extra patrol checks regarding a vehicle parked on Indigo for two hours. The vehicle was unknown to the area and the reporting party believed that the subjects in the vehicle were possibly casing the area.
Disturbance (Family) – 6:32 p.m. – 5000 block of Andrew Dr. – The reporting party’s boyfriend yelled at the RP for approximately two hours. The boyfriend left on foot and would be staying at his parents’ house for the evening. The disturbance was determined to be verbal only.

August 12, 2022

Extra Patrol Checks – 8:01 a.m. – La Luna/Santa Margarita – The reporting party was concerned about vehicles running stop signs at the intersection before and after school hours.
Found Property – 9:15 a.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A knife was reportedly found in the night depository. Report taken.
Suspicious Circumstances – 7:00 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A female teenager was reportedly seen bleeding at the temple and crying in a vehicle with a male subject standing outside the vehicle. Police made contact wtih the subjects and determined that she had just had a face lift procedure and the male subject was picking up medication.

August 13, 2022

Vandalism Report – 7:20 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The reporting party believed that a neighbor keyed her vehicle, resulting in a 4-inch scratch. There was a neighbor dispute between the two parties that park next to each other. No crime was determined.
Public Works Information – 9:24 p.m. – Moody/Coyote Creek – A chair was reportedly hanging off the fence on Moody and the reporting party was worried that it might fall and hit a bicyclist. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office (Cerritos) advised.

August 14, 2022

Disturbance (Subject) – 11:01 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A female subject was reportedly pushing carts in the direction of cars and nearly hit one.
Assist Outside Department – 11:51 a.m. – Carmenita/South (Cerritos) – A person in jogging gear was reportedly possibly unconscious behind the bus bench. Incident handled by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and LA County Fire.

August 15, 2022

Disturbance (Family) – 11:20 a.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – The caller’s brother and mother were reportedly involved in a physical fight; the brother had been drinking and throwing items. It was determined that there was an assault/battery between the brothers and the mother attempted to intervene. No prosecution was desired. The brother who had been drinking was sent on his way.
Traffic Stop – 11:26 p.m. – Moody/Houston – Police conducted a traffic stop and performed field sobriety tests on the drier. A 27-year-old female subject was subsequently arrested for DUI. The subject’s boyfriend was given permission to take the vehicle. The subject was later released on citation.
