Molina Healthcare of California (“Molina”), as part of the Molina College Angels Program, collaborated with United Friends of the Children (UFC) to donate hundreds of school supplies and other essentials for foster youth transitioning from high school to college. The partnership is part of Molina’s ongoing efforts to increase whole-health outcomes among underserved populations.
“United Friends is grateful for the partnership with Molina Healthcare of California,” said Carla Palmer, director of development at United Friends of the Children. This support demonstrated genuine concern for the success of our foster youth and is so appreciated.”
Receiving a college education is a path of upward mobility for many Californians and we are thrilled to support foster youth in this post-secondary journey,” said Abbie Totten, plan president of Molina Healthcare of California. “Working with community-based organizations like UFC ensures that foster youth in-need have access to the resources they require to be successful at college, which ultimately corresponds to better health outcomes and thriving communities.”
Molina donated more than 400 school supplies, backpacks, comforters and towels to UFC to distribute to foster youth for the upcoming college semester.
