According to the official Facebook page of the Cypress Police Department, on the late afternoon of August 4 Officers of the Department arrested a male suspect on outstanding warrants at the Stater Bros. grocery store in the shopping center on the southwest corner of Ball Road and Valley View Street:
Tonight at about 5:00 PM, Cypress PD Officers responded to the Stater Brothers at 10051 Valley View after we received calls that a man with a shotgun was inside the store.
Officers arrived within minutes and discovered the man had entered a restroom.
They quickly evacuated the store and, after several minutes of negotiating, convinced the man to exit the restroom.
Officers found the shotgun was, in fact, a pellet gun.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident and the man was arrested for several outstanding arrest warrants.
