July 20, 2022

Citizen Assist – 7:07 p.m. – 8100 block of Redford Ln. – A woman reportedly fell over across the street from the caller’s house. The female was transported to the hospital for further assistance. Incident report taken.
Reckless Driving – 7:12 p.m. – La Palma/Moody – A vehicle was reportedly seen drag racing in the area. Police were unable to locate the vehicle

July 21, 2022

Vandalism Report – 11:13 a.m. – 5300 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Three subjects reportedly set off fireworks at approximately 5:15 a.m., damaging the grass in the complex. Report taken.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 2:44 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – Police detained two subjects at gunpoint. The registered owner of the motorcycle walked to the park to recover the motorcycle. A 31-year-old female subject was arrested for possession of unlawful paraphernalia, and a 39-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and obstruction.
Vehicle Burglary – 7:07 p.m. – 5200 block of Dover Dr. – A vehicle was reportedly broken into and ransacked via unknown means. The loss was sunglasses, old credit cards, and a driver’s license. Report taken.

July 22, 2022

Assault/Battery – 8:10 a.m. – 91/Orangethorpe – A subject was reportedly unconscious from a possible assault/battery on Orangethorpe at the westbound 91 onramp. Incident handled by California Highway Patrol. La Palma Police assisted by shutting down the westbound 91 onramp at Orangethorpe.
Area Check – 1:37 p.m. – 5500 block of Oak Dr. – A subject was reportedly riding a bike in the area and loitering in front of the residence when the reporting party left about 10 minutes prior. Police were unable to locate the subject.

July 23, 2022

Petty Theft – 5:27 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – Drinks were reportedly stolen from the store. The subject waved a weapon at the reporting party, a metal object with nails in it. The RP wanted prosecution. Police located the subject. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested for petty theft and robbery. The subject was transported to Orange County Jail.
Petty Theft – 5:18 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A subject reportedly left without paying for an order. The loss was two bags of chips and a drink.
Hit and Run – 9:00 p.m. – La Palma/Valley View – The hit and run reported occurred on the southwest corner of the intersection. There was possible damage to the front of the vehicle. The clerk at a nearby business stated that he did not believe that the cameras pointed to the intersection and that he did not have access to the cameras; police would need to contact the manager on Monday morning.

July 24, 2022

Disturbance (Subject) – 2:56 a.m. – Walker/La Palma – An unknown subject stated that he was going to shoot the reporting party. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Suspicious Vehicle – 9:58 p.m. – 4600 block of Amberwood Ave. – A vehicle was reportedly driving around the neighbor with a flat tire and the lights off. Police located the vehicle parked in the 8100 block of Redford. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department out of Lakewood requested detention of the subject for a hit and run in the area of Obispo; the vehicle hit a parked car. Police contacted the subject, and OCRA was requested for an injury on the right index finger. The subject’s wife stated that he was having hallucinations due to a medical condition. The subject refused transport to the hospital. There were no other signs of traffic collisions in La Palma’s jurisdiction.

July 25, 2022

Disturbance (Subject) – 12:05 p.m. – Bransford/Walker –Welfare Check – 6:03 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The reporting party had not spoken to the RP’s ex-wife and was concerned that something had happened to her. The RP stated that the ex-wife had pneumonia and trouble breathing. Paramedics were requested and the female was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

July 26, 2022

Disturbance (Family) – 5:24 p.m. – 5700 block of Calaveras Cir. – The reporting party’s 27-year-old daughter reportedly hit the reporting party with a wig with a ponytail during an argument. The parties were separated and counseled.
Petty Theft – 5:39 p.m. – 5900 block of La Palma Ave. – The loss was diapers, shampoo, and other miscellaneous property valued at $300. Report taken.

July 27, 2022

Petty Theft – 9:28 a.m. – 5900 block of La Palma Ave. – A 60 to 70-year-old female subject using a cane reportedly took wine about three minutes prior to time of call and left on foot. Police located and contacted the subject, who had the property in her shirt. The property was returned to the owner. The female was arrested for possession of stolen property and petty theft. The subject was released on citation and transported to the hospital.
