July 18, 2022

Burglary – 10:09 a.m. – 10800 block of Hope – Upon review of surveillance video, it showed a male white suspect in his 30’s wearing a black shirt and gray shorts break into the business through a glass window. Due to the location, time of crime and suspect description, this was likely related to an incident on Sunday. The loss included a medical bag and cell phone chargers
Burglary – 12:50 p.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – Sometime over the past month, an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s storage locker and stole $80K worth of gems and crystals.

July 19, 2022

Structure Fire – 9:36 a.m. – 5200 block of Yorkshire – A small child playing with a lighter ignited the couch. The residence was evacuated upon the arrival of police, but engulfed in flames. OCFA responded and extinguished the fire.
Grand Theft – 12:07 p.m. – 5200 block of Cypress – Over the past 4 months an unknown suspect(s) have stolen city-owned street signs, valued at $2000.

July 20, 2022

City-wide Power Outage – 2:57 a.m. – Public works responded with stop signs for major intersections. The majority of the power was restored by 5:30 a.m.
Traffic Signals – 5:30-7:30 a.m. – Citywide – The power was slowly restored throughout the city but due to the signals still struggling to reset, officers staffed various intersections until the traffic signals were operational again.

July 21, 2022

Arrest – 8:00 a.m. – 4500 block of Blanca – From a call for service of a transient in the area walking with his pants down, a male subject was arrested in front of his mother’s residence for violation of a court order.
Disturbance (Subject) – 1:06 p.m. – 6900 block of Katella Ave. – From a call for service of a disruptive employee who returned to the business, a male subject was arrested for trespassing and felony threats to police officer.
Arrest – 7:23 p.m. – 8600 block of Belmont – Victim stated her boyfriend scratched her causing injury, and left with her vehicle and belongings. He left prior to the arrival of police; however, returned at approximately 10:24 p.m., where he was contacted by officers and arrested for domestic violence and robbery. During a search of his property and vehicle, a loaded handgun was located on the front seat of his vehicle in plain sight. An emergency protection order was granted and served. While on scene, an unrelated female subject tried to get involved and was told to leave numerous times and refused. She was arrested for resist/delaying an officer.

July 22, 2022

Traffic Collision – 12:47 a.m. – Moody/Orange – From a call for service of a solo traffic collision, a male subject was arrested for DUI.
Grand Theft – 8:35 p.m. – 4800 block of Larwin – Between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) took $1300 worth of personal property from the victim’s unlocked vehicle.

July 23, 2022

Homeless Contact – 6:57 a.m. – 5200 block of Orange Ave. – From a vehicle check in the library parking lot, officers discovered a family of 5, including two adults, a 17-year-old, a 1.5-year-old, and an 8-month-old had been sleeping in the pick-up truck for the past 2 months. Officers assisted the family with getting future housing resources and with the assistance of the chaplain and West Cypress Church, along with the Police Officers Association and Target; the family was provided with multiple gift cards for food/clothes/diapers.
Commercial Burglary – 10:05 a.m. – 6900 block of Katella Ave. – A suspect entered the location and cut security wires, stealing four Apple watches valued at $1300 and fled in a navy blue PT Cruiser with faded paint.

July 24, 2022

Arrest – 6:20 a.m. – 5900 block of Corporate Ave. – The victim reported her boyfriend had pushed her and struck her in the chest causing redness. A male subject was arrested for domestic violence.
Burglary Report – 6:36 a.m. – 6100 block of Orange Ave. – The victim reported an unknown subject attempted to pry open his garage but was unsuccessful and fled in a brown 1988 Toyota Camry. The incident was captured on video.
