Work continues this week to ensure Lakewood maintains its “smooth streets”

Lakewood has the reputation as a city that keeps its streets in top-notch condition. That means repaving streets periodically, and doing so when pavement begins to thin out and before potholes develop.

The City of Lakewood’s experienced contractor, R.J. Noble Co., will continue work this week repaving major portions of four roadways.

Residents are encouraged to find alternative routes around those areas during daytime hours.

Roadways will be fully open during evening hours.

The affected roadways and dates are:

  • Del Amo Blvd. (between Cherry Ave. and Downey Ave.) will have repaving work July 5-7. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction at all times, but expect traffic to be delayed.
  • Downey Ave. (between Del Amo Blvd. and Country Club Dr.) will have repaving work July 7. That section of roadway will be fully closed during that time, with allowances only for residents to access their homes.
  • Ashworth St. (between Clark Ave. and Woodruff Ave.) will have repaving work July 7-8. That section of roadway will be fully closed during that time, with allowances only for residents to access their homes.
  • Hersholt Ave. (between South St. and Hedda St.) will have repaving work July 7-8. That section of roadway will be fully closed during that time, with allowances only for residents to access their homes.

Thank you to our residents for your understanding during these repaving projects as we work to keep Lakewood’s streets in excellent condition.
