We have an epidemic of preventable gun violence in this country and the Supreme Court’s decision has made it easier for dangerous people to carry concealed handguns in public spaces.
I have spent my entire career fighting for women and victims of gun violence and as a Councilwoman, I successfully brought common-sense measures designed to ban ghost guns and ghost gun parts in Long Beach.
Today’s ruling flies in the face of bi-partisan reform measures moving through Congress just this week and removes a long-standing, practical measure that police and first responders across the country use to keep our neighborhoods safe.
