University and Beckman are top-seeded in their divisions in the CIF boys tennis playoffs that begin this week.
University, the Pacific Coast League champion, is seeded first in the open division and opens up play against defending champion Harvard-Westlake Friday at 3 p.m. at Uni. Harvard-Westlake defeated Uni 14-12 last season to win the open division title.
Coach John Kessler’s Trojans, 23-0, won the Pacific Coast League title.
Corona del Mar is second, Calabasas third and Woodbridge fourth in the open division.
In Division 1, San Marcos is first and Portola, last year’s Division 2 champion, is second. In Division 2, Beckman is seeded first, Redondo Union second, Los Alamitos third and Dos Pueblos fourth.
Capistrano Valley Christian is seeded third and St. Margaret’s fourth in Division 3.
Four teams from the Pacific Coast League, including Northwood, which faces Sage Hill in the Division 1 playoffs, qualified for post-season play.
