In case you missed it, the highly respected non-partisan news website, CalMatters, issued their 2022 voter guide and labeled the 47th Congressional District race between Scott Baugh (R-CA47) and incumbent Katie Porter a “toss-up.”

“Toss up” by Cal Matters rating for Congressional race.

“CalMatters has experienced political journalists on the ground in California and they are seeing what we are seeing, that the new 47th district is up for grabs in 2022,” said Republican Scott Baugh’s campaign consultant Dave Gilliard. “Biden’s inflation, rising crime and incumbent Porter’s leftist politics are distressing to voters in this coastal Orange County and traditionally Republican district and Scott Baugh is the perfect candidate to win it in 2022.”

Scott Baugh Chairman of the Gang Reduction Intervention Program (GRIP) that works with law enforcement throughout the county to keep kids out of gangs. He is also the former Chairman of the Orange County Republican Party and former Assembly Republican Leader, a founder of the OC Marathon Foundation, and a founding trustee of Pacifica Christian High School in Newport Beach. Scott, his wife Wendy and son Jackson, live in Huntington Beach. He has lived in the district for over 30 years.
