ANAHEIM, Calif. (April 13, 2022) – Homicide detectives have arrested Miguel Urbina Pelaez, a 21-year-old Fullerton resident, for the 2020 shooting death of a 28-year-old Anaheim man.

On August 15, 2020, just after midnight, Anaheim officers responded to the area of Bellevue Drive and Citron Street to investigate a report of a shooting and found Edwin Richard Ramirez Hernandez suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was injured in the shooting and survived.

In April 2021, detectives located and arrested three other suspects in this homicide, which is believed to be gang-related. Over the course of the past year, detectives continued their investigation and identified Pelaez as a fourth suspect.

Today, around 5 a.m., investigators located Pelaez in Sun Valley and arrested him without incident. The Anaheim Police Department’s Tactical Response Group served a search warrant at Pelaez’s residence in the 2600 block of Milton Avenue in Fullerton.

Pelaez was booked into the Anaheim Detention Facility for murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million. Anyone with information is urged to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.

The three other arrestees are Jorge Nolasco, 28, Dominick Dakota Gilbert Sanchez, 28, and Jacob Antunez, 25; all are Fullerton residents who are currently in custody at Orange County Jail awaiting trial.
