Fullerton Elks Lodge recently presented a $3,500 Beacon Grant check to the County of Orange, California, Animal Care Services Department. This grant is to assist Animal Care Services in providing free pet food for their Family Fur-st Pet Pantry program.

Pet food is available on the second Saturday of the month for those needing assistance during the pandemic. The monthly average distribution more than doubled in 2021 to 8,510 pounds, and recently had its highest pet food distribution ever at 12,635 pounds. Thousands of households have been supported by this wonderful program. Lodge volunteers have participated in the drive-thru event, distributing pet food on several occasions in 2021. The Lodge will continue to support this effort in 2022.

This grant is provided by the Elks National Foundation.
