ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 21, 2022) – Anaheim homicide detectives have arrested Adalid Arcigaplancarte, a 52-year-old Anaheim man, for fatally shooting a man who witnessed him arguing with a woman in a strip mall parking lot.

On March 18, 2022, just after 7 p.m., officers were dispatched to investigate a report of gunfire in the 1300 block of S. Euclid St. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Jorge Becerra-Vera of Stanton suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Becerra-Vera was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives determined that prior to the shooting, Arcigaplancarte had been arguing with a woman with whom he had a romantic relationship. Becerra-Vera was present in the parking lot and was not involved in the argument. During the argument, Arcigaplancarte apparently noticed that Becerra-Vera was watching and confronted him. During that confrontation, Arcigaplancarte shot Becerra-Vera and then fled the scene. The woman was not injured.

On March 19, 2022, around 11:30 a.m., investigators arrested Arcigaplancarte without incident in the 4000 block of S. Main Street in Santa Ana. Arcigaplancarte was booked into the Anaheim Detention Facility for murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million.
