Senator Thomas J. Umberg (D-Santa Ana) announced that he will be honoring Jean D. Romualdo, a Patient Care Services Pharmacist with Albertson’s/Vons/Pavilions as the Woman of the Year for the 34th Senate District.
“In appreciation for her tenacious and dedicated work setting up COVID testing and vaccine clinics and supporting patients, I am proud to honor Jean Romualdo as our Woman of the Year for 2022,” said Senator Umberg. “Ms. Romualdo’s organizational skills, attention to detail, and seemingly bottomless well of sympathy and caring for Orange County residents through the last two years has been an inspiration to me and countless others.”
Jean D. Romualdo, RPh currently serves as Patient Care Services Pharmacist for the Southern California Region of the Albertson’s/Vons/Pavilions chain of markets. She is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila and University of Southern California, Los Angeles with a Registered Pharmacist Degree.
Jean began her career at Albertsons more than 25 years ago as a Staff Pharmacist and has since held a variety of leadership and managerial positions within Albertsons’ Southern California Division. As a Patient Care Services Pharmacist, Jean oversees quality policies and procedures for Clinical Programs, leads execution and presentations in various health events, and provides leadership and technical strategies to Pharmacy Managers and Staff.
Jean’s position and vast experience were crucial in facilitating the COVID clinics for the City of Santa Ana and other key organizations and businesses in 2021. Children, adults, and families at public health clinics, primary and secondary schools, community churches, and other medical and critical corporations supported by Albertson’s have all been impacted by Jean’s work.
Senator Umberg, along with the California Legislative Women’s Caucus, sponsors the annual “Woman of the Year” celebration. The event typically includes a special ceremony on the Senate Floor in which most of the Senators honor a woman who has significantly contributed to their district. This year and last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was held online in a virtual format.
Senator Umberg added that, “Jean Romualdo is the ultimate healthcare professional whose talents have been heavily relied upon at a time when our state and country need it most. She has dedicated her career to protecting Orange County residents and keeping them safe during the time of a national pandemic – and she is absolutely a hero.”
