Homicide Victim Identification

ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 2, 2021) – Anaheim PD homicide detectives have identified the deceased victim from a June 1, 2021 shooting, as 25-year-old Abel Saldana, of Garden Grove.

On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at about 7:40 pm, APD officers responded to the area of Catalpa Avenue and Euclid Street regarding a call of shots heard. Officers arrived on scene and located evidence of a shooting. Moments later, officers were notified of a male shooting victim located in a vehicle parked in the area of Pampas Lane and Euclid Street, south of the shooting location. Officers arriving to that scene located Saldana, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Saldana was transported to a local area hospital where he died from the injuries he sustained.

APD detectives believe there are witnesses to Saldana’s shooting who have not yet been contacted by police.
