Appointments required to enter MV Library beginning Jan. 6

To lessen the effects of the current COVID-19 surge, the Mission Viejo Library is implementing strategies to manage the number of people in the facility and allow increased distancing to prevent spread. Beginning Thursday, January 6, an appointment will be required to enter the library, and the Friends of the Library Bookstore will be temporarily closed.

New appointments are available every half hour, and a study room reservation also qualifies as an appointment. Appointments can be made here.  Library staff will not clear the building before each series of appointments but will use the reservation schedule to manage the flow of people into the building.

For your convenience, the library will once again offer curbside pickup service to any patron without an appointment. Curbside service will be offered daily from library opening to 5 pm. Park in a designated curbside space in front of the library and follow instructions on the sign.

Library open hours are not changing at this time. Current hours are:

Monday – Thursday, 10 am – 9 pm

Friday, 1– 5 pm

Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm

Sunday, noon – 5 pm

Moving forward, the library may cancel programs or change in-person programs to virtual, so visit the library website for updates.

While the Friends of the Library Bookstore is temporarily closed, please do not bring donations to the library until it reopens.

Staff members expects these measures will only be in place for two to three weeks but are actively monitoring the situation and will adjust as needed. The library is located at 100 Civic Center.
