Twenty, flirty and thriving may not have been the direct quote from the 2004 romantic comedy “13 Going on 30,” but the movie is celebrating its 20th birthday.
To honor the occasion, the film’s stars Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer reunited to thank their fans on Instagram.
“Twenty years. We are three Boomers braving Zoom—because we want to thank you,” wrote Garner and Greer in the post’s caption. “To every person who has loved this movie along with us: Thank You. We see you, we appreciate you and we love you back. Forever thirty, flirty and thriving!”
The trio reflected on the past two decades and how their lives have changed as well as technology.
“Twenty years ago, we had cell phones, but we were still texting on ABC,” Garner exclaimed.
Greer pointed out that everyone used to receive their news from the same place back then. “A newspaper!” Ruffalo chimed in.
The cast also reflected on how the film remains a fan favorite.
“A woman came up to me the other day and told me that she and her friends do a ’13 Going On 30′ cosplay,” the “Poor Things” actor said.
Garner, who plays the role of Jenna, said she just met a baby the other day with the same name.
Ruffalo revealed he gets more recognition for his role as Matt Flamhaff than as The Hulk in “The Avengers” franchise.
“There are two kinds of people in the world: there are Hulk people and there’s ’13 going on 30′ people and I get equal amounts way more ’13 going on 30,’” he told the women.
In the movie, Garner plays a young girl in 1987 who wakes up as her 30-year-old self in 2004. Ruffalo plays her love interest and Greer plays her friend.
